Do you love to know penguin facts? Who doesn't, right? If you can't get to Antarctica anytime soon, why not check out this article now. Have fun!
A penguin’s body isn’t designed to fly. Its wings are too short and stubby. A number of other birds, including the ostrich, can’t fly either.
However, the penguin is a bird species that is highly specialized for its native environment, which includes the coasts of Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, and the Galapagos Islands. There, being able to swim to catch fish is more useful than flying. Luckily their wings, which are more like flippers, work just fine for swimming underwater in even the coldest oceans.
